Project Management Certificate

As a Software Developer, understanding of Project Management is essential.  Almost all software development is a project in one form or the other.  Even one is not managing a project, one is being managed in a project.

Even back in the High School days, and of course during Undergrad study, one have to do multiple assignments/projects at the same time.  Handling those requires one to manage scope, time and quality.   Some of the major constraints in the project management.  The one other major constraints that is not covered is cost.  There is no money involve in school work.  So that was never in anyone’s mind.

Hence, it is just natural for me to work towards a Project Management Certificate, to fill in some gap that my previous and experience have not filled.

Especially the aspect of Procurement Management, which is not easy to self learn.  Unless you did a business degree and have work experience in dealing with multiple subcontracts at the same time or a subcontractor dealing with multiple clients at the same time.  However, when complexity and length of project grow, failure in that area can lead to lawyers getting involve.  That is never a pretty sight.
